Job Description

This is a continuous advertisement for a Correctional Officer position at Cross City Correctional Institution. No prior experience is necessary, all training is provided. Correctional Officers are responsible for the supervision, care, custody, control and physical restraint, when necessary, of inmates in a Correctional Institution or facility. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Supervise inmates. Observe traffic in and around the compound. Monitor, supervise and screen inmate visitor traffic. Make periodic patrols of quarters and work areas. Maintain proper security of inmates being transported. Maintain knowledge of communication and other electronic equipment. Maintain and demonstrate proficiency in the use and care of firearms, restraint methods and equipment and emergency measures. Maintain a record of equipment, supplies and other items. Check inmate mail for possible contraband.

Start off at $22 HR!
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age (no maximum age restriction) Be a United States Citizen Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Possess a valid driver's license Pass a drug test and physical examination Pass a background investigation and fingerprinting, which includes; no felony convictions; no misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; no misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence. Must demonstrate good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.
