In this County Social Services Aide 2 position, you will be perform entry level social service duties as part of our Parent Education Program. Work involves helping parents, children, and families build essential skills and access needed resources. With us, you will be part of a team that inspires hope, builds resilience, and provides the nurturing environment and resources that children and their families need to succeed.Your responsibilities will include:
Parent Education:
Provide instruction and support to parents through center-based and in-home education servicesCollaboration:
Coordinate with other social service agencies, hospitals, mental health facilities, police, courts, schools, and other community resources to ensure consistent support for familiesGroup Activity Support:
Facilitate group activities that help parents, adolescents, and children build positive skills and experiences from budgeting and discipline to crafts and communicationRecord Keeping:
Maintain clear case records that track client progress and care plan updatesClient Assistance:
Provide transportation, manage crisis situations, help refer parents to appropriate community resources, and supervise interactions between parents and childrenWork Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May require evening, weekend, or on-call work depending on agency requirements.Telework:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Other Requirements:
This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension. You must meet the PA residency requirement. You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
