Courier |Materials Management|Full Time

Job Summary:

Gritman Medical Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Courier to join our Courier Services team. This position is responsible for driving a hospital vehicle to transport various items, including specimens, supplies, instruments, cash bags, documents, and other goods, to and from Gritman facilities and clinics on and off-campus.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow the daily schedule to ensure timely pickups and deliveries. Handle and transport specimens and biohazardous materials safely using appropriate protective equipment. Navigate to multiple locations using an electronic map or provided instructions. Maintain documentation for deliveries and pickups as required. Safely operate a vehicle in all weather conditions.

Job Requirements:

Licenses/Certifications:

Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of hire and maintain throughout employment. Must possess valid vehicle insurance at the time of hire and maintain throughout employment.

Experience:

Experience following a daily schedule is preferred. Familiarity with driving in diverse weather conditions is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to use electronic maps for locating addresses is preferred.

Physical Demands:

Frequent lifting of items up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting up to 60 lbs (with assistance as needed). Occasional pushing/pulling carts up to 60 lbs. Sitting/driving for up to 2 hours at a time. Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional stair climbing.

Environmental Conditions:

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, wind, rain, hail, snow, frost, and ice). Gloves must be worn during specimen transfers and while handling biohazardous materials.
