Job Description
As a function of the Waupaca County Clerk of Courts Department, this position provides a variety of routine semiskilled clerical duties in the Clerk of Circuit Courts office working with the public and other agencies. This position works under the direct supervision of the Clerk of Circuit Courts and/or Chief Deputy Clerk of Circuit Courts. Performs daily duties associated with updating the court files on the Circuit Court Automation Project (CCAP) system. Provides customer service to the public, which includes but is not limited to receipting monies, filing new actions, signature/cash bond preparation and execution, reception of filed documents, and providing general information as needed. Prepare court calendars. Update and prepare dockets for the intake calendars. Communicate daily with the public and attorneys over the phone and at the counter. Receipts all incoming payments that come in the mail and through the electronic system daily. Handles all jury duty functions, including summons, scheduling bailiffs etc. Handles all incoming record requests. Update manual and computerized files, transcribe, and enter court orders/findings from Deputy's minute sheets with accuracy. Performs routing clerical duties. Performs other duties as assigned by the Clerk of Circuit Courts and/or Chief Deputy Clerk of Circuit Courts.
PERIPHERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as backup to fellow Court Clerk's and Deputy's.EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. Specialized course work in office practices are preferred.EXPERIENCE
Previous experience working in an office setting with skills in typing, filing, accounting, bookkeeping, some legal experience is preferred, and/or customer service is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
: Ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Ability and skill with attention to detail. Proficient knowledge of computers. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public. Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality.Similar remote jobs
