  • Full-time The CPA is crucial in supporting our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) department and will be actively involved in overseeing staff assignments and directly interacting with clients on more complex accounting, bookkeeping, and financial matters.
The role offers a significant opportunity to lead, grow, and enhance the effectiveness of the services we provide to our esteemed clients. Duties and Responsibilities Lead CAAS department engagements providing onboarding evaluation of client needs, structuring ongoing engagement to ensure efficient completion, and overseeing staff completing those engagements. Assist new clients with the cleanup of their QB files and provide recommendations for future processing. Provide comprehensive assistance with outsourced accounting services including payroll, sales tax, property tax, 1099s, and various business-related filings. Complete interim and annual compilation engagements. Review staff's work on various engagements to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards. Supervise and mentor a team of employees, fostering a collaborative team environment. Effectively communicate with Federal, State, and Local tax agencies on behalf of clients. Respond to various governmental and non-governmental notices and/or audits. Participate in conducting training sessions to promote continuous learning and development. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Ten (10) years experience as an accountant. Active Certified Public Accountant License. Ability to review client records to identify issues needing attention and design workflows to increase efficiency. Ability to manage jobs to completion within budgeted hours. Adept in using advanced features of QuickBooks Desktop and Online products. Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and clients. Effective selection of appropriate communication methods to fit various situations. Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet tight deadlines. Ability to foster, develop, and maintain professional relationships with partners, employees, clients, and tax authorities. Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex documents such as sales tax laws and regulations across different states. Strong problem-solving skills particularly in resolving payroll tax notices for federal and other states.
