Job Description

Shift:
1position M-F 1 position Tu-Sat with some evenings Employees are an important part of life at The GreenFields! Position Summary:
Creative Arts Assistant provides compassionate, person-centered onsite activities support to residents. This role focuses on promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life through creative and exciting activities geared towards the needs of the residents..
Job Responsibilities:
Assists in the development, reviewing, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures. Implements and participates in daily resident activities, sometimes including evenings. Participates in community planning related to the interests of the residents and their needs. Meets with residents/families as necessary and in a private setting. Responsible for daily arrangement of rooms and furniture to accommodate planned programs. Performs administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submits such to the Creative Ars Director. Meets with residents on-on-one to offer support, answer questions, and solve issues. Assists in scheduling transportation for medical appointments, including helping Manor residents with making appointments. Involves the resident in planning Creative Arts Programs when possible. Drives company vehicles and assists transportation department when necessary. Assists with community-wide functions such as picnics and parties. Participates in delivery of packages and birthday celebrations as part of "Make Residents Feel Special" initiative daily or as needed. Assists in arranging/providing transportation when necessary. Refers residents/families to appropriate social services personnel when the facility does not provide the services or needs of the resident. Coordinates transportation for trips/outings when necessary. Meets with residents/associate groups to solicit advice on identifying needed services. Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Executive Director. Always adheres to dress code policy. Always adheres to time and attendance policy. Practices safe work habits and follows all safety procedures of the facility. Assures the safety, security, and wellbeing of our residents. nlnp Position Requirements
EXPERIENCE
Two years leisure time programming experience, fitness/wellness background preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree Human Services Valid NYS driver's license class 1- 5 , prefer class C, no moving violations within past three years
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging residents/associates. Must be able to communicate with the staff, and other department supervisors. Maintains a rapport with the residents and their families. Must be willing to seek out new methods and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Must attend and participate in continuing educational programs. Must have valid state of residence driver's license. May be required to use personal vehicle.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to climb stairs.
Working Conditions:
Will work in a well-lit and ventilated area. Will be subject to frequent interruptions. May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary. May be subject to call-backs during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.) Is subject to injury from falls, burns, from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke and other air contaminants If you feel like you're a great candidate for our Creative Arts position, please apply today!!
