Immediately Job Description The Criminal Justice Instructor will develop and implement curriculum that adheres to the Chapter 74 Career and Technical Education frameworks and performance standards that will prepare students for the various fields associated with Criminal Justice/Legal and Protective Services, including but not limited to trial procedures, court stenography, constitutional and criminal law, interviewing techniques, crime scene investigations, community policing, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1.
Select appropriate books, materials, supplies, and equipment for training, courses, or projects. 2. Develop and implement program curriculum. 3. Create scope and sequence (including exploratory) and adopt a methodology to ensure student achievement and proficiency in the content area. 4. Plan and maintain a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. 5. Develop and implement daily lesson plans to teach skills required to develop competence in the content area. 6. Prepare outlines of instructional programs and training schedules and establish course goals. 7. Develop and implement hands-on projects that align with the CTE Frameworks. 8. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. 9. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. 10. Assess student progress on a regular basis by establishing an evaluation criteria in alignment with collaborative procedures for content area projects to measure progress and competency. 11. Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and to evaluate training effectiveness.

MUST HAVE
Associate degree or higher preferred in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field. MA dept. of Elementary & Secondary Edu Certification/Licensure in Criminal Justice - 430107 or is certifiable 5 years relevant work experience. Experience as a duly appointed law enforcement officer by a city or state police department, county sheriff-department, or emergency services with experience in traffic control, domestic disturbances, accident and crime scene investigation, fingerprinting, crowd control, etc. Additional Requirements 1. Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years teaching experience with high school students preferred. 2. Understanding of the Massachusetts Vocational Frameworks for Criminal Justice/Legal and Protective Services. 3. Certified in CPR and First Aid. 4. Good written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills. 5. Able to utilize technology appropriately to enhance the teaching and learning experience. 6. Effective and demonstrated problem-solving, critical and analytical thinking, and organizational skills. 7. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Associate degree preferred.
