POSITION PURPOSE
Focusing on compliance and safety standards in CTE technical and trades programs is crucial to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare for current & emerging fields, making them more competitive candidates for post-secondary, military, and a skilled workforce. While contributing to the district's strategic plan to increase student achievement and the graduate rate, this coordinator position will support adherence to CTE standards for technical & trades programs through efficient inventory systems management and promoting safe learning environments through training, implementation, and monitoring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provides support services for Career & Technical Education (CTE) and JROTC programs and technical pathways.
  • Facilitates professional development & training for CTE teachers to utilize industry recognized standards for safe classroom & shop area training spaces.
  • Develop teaching & learning materials to integrate optimal safety practices.
  • Assists with implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of industry recognized certifications related to OSHA credentials for CTE teachers and students.
  • Coordinates with BCSD departments, school level staff, and CTE teachers to modernize CTE equipment and inventory management system.
  • Supports CTE Federal and State requirements to meet compliance standards for new and existing
CTE/JROTC
overall operations.
  • Prepares ongoing reports, communications, and presentations to multiple stakeholders.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director, CIO, and/or Designee
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Master's preferred within an educational, supervision/administration, or workforce development content area.
  • Must hold a valid South Carolina educator's certification or be eligible to obtain a SC educator's certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Work experience preferred within the past five years in one of the following: supervision in an education and/or business/industry-related setting.
  • Have demonstrated communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience preferred with asset management software systems; OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Google products.
