Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The CT/Radiologic Technologist at Grafton City Hospital provides high-quality Radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders while practicing ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) for radiation exposure to the patient and self. The CT/Radiologic Technologist provides extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care, and clinical excellence, one patient at a time. The CT/Radiologic Technologist position will function across general radiography, surgery, and CT modalities. Assists in all areas of the Diagnostic Imaging Department as needed for lifting, patient monitoring, etc. Provides radiological imaging with the least amount of radiation exposure possible while shielding the patient as appropriate. Administers contrast to patients as dictated by imaging protocols, adhering to all safety guidelines. Adhere to ARRT Code of Ethics when providing patient care. Utilize ALARA principles to ensure occupational safety. Promote hospital and department policies and procedures. Ensure optimum quality images are obtained utilizing proper protocols. Protects patient rights to privacy and confidentiality. Utilize effective communication skills in interactions with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. Obtain pertinent information in an objective and professional manner. Consistently communicate in a manner that demonstrates a positive and cooperative attitude. Provide education to the patient and family, as appropriate, regarding the radiological testing the patient is to have performed. Provides clerical duties as needed, such as, answering phones, scheduling patients, greeting patients, etc. Provides images to outside providers via electronic means or CD as needed. Ensures exam order matches patient's history to ensure reimbursement/authorization by payers. Place orders for supplies as needed. Cleans equipment after patient uses to ensure a clean environment. Participate in continuing education activities and provide in-service. Attend department staff meetings as required by the manager.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Graduation from a two-year Radiologic Technology Training Program is required.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Registered or Registry eligible (if a new graduate) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Must successfully pass Registry within 6 months of hire) West Virginia State License (Board of Examiners of Radiologic Technologists) Basic Life Support (BLS) Grafton City Hospital is an Equal-Opportunity employer.
