This is not a corporate "sit in the office" culinary role. This is a working chef leadership position for someone who understands how to: run a clean and organized kitchen, lead a small team, cook high-quality meals consistently, manage inventory and ordering, and follow systems that make the kitchen run smoothly. You'll be actively involved in day-to-day kitchen operations alongside your team while also overseeing scheduling, inventory, sanitation, prep systems, menu execution, and department leadership. If you enjoy building structure, creating efficiencies, mentoring staff, and taking pride in your kitchen — this could be an excellent fit. About Us Colonial Court is a locally owned assisted living and memory care community focused on hospitality, resident experience, and high-quality care. We are not a large corporate chain. Leadership is highly involved and invested in building a positive culture and strong team environment. Food matters here. Residents look forward to meals, and we believe dining is one of the most important parts of their day. What This Role Actually Looks Like This role is ideal for someone who: enjoys both leadership and cooking, prefers a smaller team environment, can shift between administrative tasks and kitchen production, understands urgency without chaos, and takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do. You'll help oversee: meal preparation and execution, kitchen organization, ordering and inventory, prep systems, sanitation and food safety, staffing and scheduling, training and accountability, and resident dining satisfaction. You'll work closely with ownership and leadership to continue improving kitchen systems and operations.
What We're Looking ForRequired:
Previous kitchen leadership experience Strong organization and time management Experience ordering food and managing inventory Ability to lead and hold a team accountable Understanding of sanitation and food safety standards Ability to work in the kitchen alongside staff Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure
Preferred:
Senior living, healthcare, hotel, country club, or restaurant leadership experience Experience managing small teams ServSafe certification Scratch cooking and batch cooking experience This Position Is Probably NOT a
