2:00 pm•9:30 pm Job Summary The Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned buildings clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established district policies and standards. A custodial worker must maintain assigned buildings in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the education program. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, experience in performing custodial and/or maintenance functions. Good mechanical aptitude, heating & ventilation experience strong work ethic, good initiative, interpersonal skills and strong independent judgment. Excellent written and oral communication. Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to use technology effectively. Responsibilities Perform custodial duties both interior and exterior of building by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation, orderliness, and safety. Notify supervisors concerning major and minor repairs. Accept instructions from the head custodian/supervisor verbally or in writing. Provide services as necessary to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities. Assist visiting members of the public who are utilizing the facilities. Work on call as needed at any time for emergency repairs, equipment monitoring, overtime, or specific custodial needs falling outside of normal working hours inclusive of weekends.
