Job Description

Job Summary:
Orgill is seeking a high potential individual who serves as the analytical and operational backbone for retail dealer transitions. You will be responsible for the high precision crossmatching of hardware products, coordinating with POS providers to ensure technical readiness, and utilizing hardware industry expertise to design store layouts that maximize profitability. Performs all duties associated with file work and data related to onboarding new business for Orgill. Assists RDMs with collecting, organizing and analyzing the customer's crossmatch file in preparation for the pre-visit.
Duties and Responsibilities Crossmatching:
Assists RDMs with collecting, organizing, and analyzing the customer's crossmatch file. Utilizes hardware product knowledge to ensure accurate SKU substitution and category alignment during the pre-visit. Works with Point-of-Sale providers to collect customer data and coordinate conversion implementation dates and training sessions.
Strategic Planning:
Formats and analyzes crossmatch files to identify core Focused Assortment Planning opportunities, ensuring the suggested product mix aligns with local hardware market trends.
Planogram Integration:
Collaborates with the merchandising team to align conversion files with Orgill Planograms (POGs). Ensures that opening stock orders reflect the physical constraints and capacity of the dealer shelving and fixtures.
Space Management:
Assists RDMs in identifying Smart Start opportunities by mapping existing store layouts to optimized planogram sets, ensuring a seamless physical transition during the reset.
Project Implementation:
Assists with file manipulation and on-site visual merchandising guidance for Dealer Account conversion projects.
Financial Reconciliation:
Assists with the reconciliation of buyback and opening order data post-conversion to secure buyback funds efficiently.
Market Support:
Assists with preparation, set up, and event participation for Orgill's semi-annual Dealer Markets, including merchandising model store displays.
Communication:
Regularly updates sales and field teams regarding the status of pending POS conversions and merchandising resets. Success Factors -
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Merchandising Logic:
Ability to interpret planograms and floor plans to maximize sales per square foot during a brand conversion.
Industry Expertise:
Strong knowledge of hardware categories (e.g., Tools, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint) to identify logical product adjacencies and substitutions.
Analytical Reasoning:
Using logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to complex inventory conversions.
Time Management:
Aptitude to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple conversion projects simultaneously with limited supervision.
Information Synthesis:
Competence to combine disparate data points—such as POS history and planogram requirements—to form a cohesive opening stock order.
Communication:
Ability to explain technical data and merchandising layouts to both corporate teams and retail store owners. Minimum Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Retail Management, Data Analytics, or a related field. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Advanced Excel, Access, and Outlook). Prior experience with retail planogram software (e.g., JDA, Apollo, or Spaceman) or 2+ years of experience in hardware retail merchandising is highly preferred.
Travel:
Requires travel as deemed necessary (up to 25%)
Attendance:
Regular on-site, in-person attendance is required.
