We are moving away from the traditional "Crew Chief" model to focus on a high-level Operations & Training Specialist . This role is the bridge between our office and our field crews, ensuring that every move is executed with precision and every customer is left with a 5-star experience. We aren't just looking for a mover; we are looking for a manager and mentor . This is a leadership role that prioritizes customer service, administrative accuracy, and team development over heavy lifting. Position Overview As the Operations & Training Specialist , you are the "Quality Controller" of the company. Your time will be split between the office and visiting various job sites. You will be responsible for ensuring our crews are following protocols, our customers are thrilled, and our backend administrative tasks—from payroll to scheduling—are flawless. While you will not be assigned to moving jobs daily, you must be willing to jump in as the "last line of defense" if an emergency backup is needed. Key Responsibilities 1.
Customer Experience & Quality Control Site Visits:
Drop in on active job sites to inspect progress, ensure safety protocols, and maintain "The Unique Way." The "5-Star"
Mission:
Talk directly with customers on-site to ensure satisfaction and personally assist in securing 5-star Google reviews.
Claims Management:
Handle any damage claims professionally, from initial report to resolution. 2.
Training & Development Onboarding:
Train new hires on packing, loading, and customer service standards.
Interviewing & Hiring:
hiring movers and drivers to cover the jobs.
Tracking:
Maintain a digital "Training Tracker" to ensure every team member is progressing and meeting company standards. 3.
Operational Logistics Calls:
Handle confirmation calls for upcoming jobs and follow-up "How did we do?" calls post-move.
Scheduling:
Manage the daily dispatch and calendar for crews and trucks.
Inventory & Fleet:
Conduct regular truck inspections and manage equipment/supply inventory. 4.
Administrative Support Payroll:
Check over and update daily payroll entries for accuracy.
Tech Management:
Use iPads and computers to manage electronic logs and end-of-day reporting.
Requirements Customer Service First:
You must be a "people person" who can de-escalate situations and build rapport instantly.
Management Experience:
Proven ability to lead a team, track performance, and hold people accountable.
Tech Savvy:
Proficient with iPads, computers, and learning new management software.
Valid Class C License:
Must have a clean driving record. (
Note:
You must be able to drive 26ft box trucks if needed). Moving experience is NOT required , but a background in logistics, hospitality, or retail management is highly preferred.
Age Requirement:
Must be 30+ years old (due to commercial vehicle insurance requirements for our fleet).
Pay & Benefits Base Pay:
Starting at $20.00 / hour (during training period) After 60 days: $22.00 / hour After 120 days: $24.00 / hour
Performance Bonuses:
Monthly incentives based on customer review targets and training milestones.
Sign-On Bonus:
$250.00 (payable after 90 days).
Growth:
This role is designed to evolve with the company. As we grow, your leadership role expands. Hours & Scheduling Moving is a dynamic industry, so your schedule will be depend on business but prioritized. As a Crew Chief, you are the first person we call when a job is booked.
Weekly Range:
25 to 40+ hours per week . Hours fluctuate based on seasonal demand (summer is our busiest peak) and job availability.
Daily Schedule:
We do not work a standard "9-to-5." Some jobs start as early as 6:00 AM , while others may be late-afternoon move.
Flexibility:
We send out the next day's schedule via text every afternoon. You must be available for weekends and holidays , as these are the most common times for residential transitions.
