HVAC Service Manager Stafford Mechanical Services | Full-Time | In Person $125,000 salary, plus bonus Build a Great Team. Grow a Strong Department. Make a Lasting Impact. Stafford Mechanical Services is looking to grow our team with a seasoned, motivated, organized Service Manager who will work closely with our service department and office staff to uphold the high-quality workmanship and customer care we're known for. As Service Manager at Stafford Mechanical, you'll work alongside a team of experienced HVAC & plumbing professionals to oversee and lead service repairs, installations, replacements and maintenance for our residential and light commercial customer base in MA & CT. Coupled with significant experience in HVAC (7-10+ years), computer skills are essential to performance as is being punctual, organized and honest. $125,000+ salary, plus bonus 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (individual + family) Generous paid time off and paid holidays Company-provided truck, phone, and technology Paid training, third-party coaching, and professional-development assistance Strong commitment to work-life balance Supportive, experienced leadership that understands the industry Role Qualifications 7-10+ years of residential and/or light commercial HVAC service experience, including 5+ years in a service-management or leadership role Proven ability to lead, coach and develop technicians Hands-on strength in diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance; able to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot controls CT Heating/Cooling D, B, or S license and commercial HVAC experience preferred Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Comfortable with technology; ServiceTitan experience preferred (training provided) Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check Honest, dependable, punctual, and committed to doing the right thing What You'll Own Team Leadership and Culture Lead a growing team of residential and commercial HVAC technicians, building a positive, team-focused culture based on trust, communication, integrity, and high performance. Set clear expectations and hold regular one-on-ones, team meetings, and coaching conversations. Retain and develop skilled technicians, and partner with leadership to strengthen overall engagement and communication. Promote safe work practices and ensure all work meets code, inspection, and OSHA standards. Technician Training and Development Establish individualized growth plans based on each technician's experience, performance, and career goals alongside Company management Coach technical, service, and communication skills through ride-alongs, site visits, job reviews, and one-on-ones. Evaluate technical abilities to identify training needs, and coordinate internal, manufacturer, vendor, and third-party training. Help technicians build long-term careers and develop future leaders. Department Performance Support department and technician performance against clear goals, in partnership with leadership. Recognize success, address gaps, and help build improvement plans. Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and capacity planning. Ensure performance goals never compromise integrity or service quality. Service Operations and Quality Work with dispatch and project managers to match the right technician to the right job, and review schedules, invoices, capacity, and job requirements. Follow and reinforce company processes in ServiceTitan, and maintain accurate records of service work, coaching, and performance. Uphold quality workmanship and service standards on every job. Improve workflows and coordination across service, dispatch, sales, and installation. Customer and Vendor Relationships Manage escalated customer concerns with urgency, empathy, and professionalism from first call through site visit, repair oversight, and final resolution. Build long-term relationships with residential and commercial customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and vendor partners. Partner with manufacturers and vendors on technical support, training, and warranties.
