Job Description

Field Service Manager Packaging Automation & Industrial Equipment We are seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to lead a team of field service technicians supporting the installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of advanced packaging automation equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technical leader with experience in industrial machinery, automation, controls, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electromechanical systems, packaging equipment, and managing field service operations in a customer-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Lead, schedule, and support a team of field service technicians. Oversee equipment installations, startups, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex mechanical, electrical, PLC, HMI, robotics, conveyor, and automation-related issues. Coordinate service resources to meet customer timelines, project requirements, and emergency support needs. Partner with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and project management teams to ensure successful equipment delivery and customer satisfaction. Review service reports, monitor service performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Coach, train, and develop field service technicians while promoting a strong safety culture. Support aftermarket service growth through preventive maintenance programs, upgrades, and customer relationship development. Travel to customer sites as needed to support installations, escalations, and key customer relationships. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, automation, packaging equipment, or related industrial environments. Prior leadership, supervisory, or team management experience. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, motors, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial controls. Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel as needed. Preferred Experience Packaging automation, conveyors, robotics, case packing, palletizing, labeling, or material handling systems. Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, Siemens, or similar controls platforms. OEM, machine builder, or systems integration experience. Technical degree or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
