Job Description
Client Services Supervisor Northlands Rescue Mission is seeking a dependable, professional, and compassionate Client Services Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our front office and provide leadership to front office staff. The Client Services Supervisor plays an important role in maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming shelter environment. This position is responsible for staff supervision, scheduling, front office coverage, documentation, security, and responding to client and operational concerns. Essential Job Functions Provide day-to-day supervision, support, and direction to front office staff. Lead by example in professionalism, communication, dependability, confidentiality, and adherence to NRM policies. Create and maintain the front office staff schedule. Ensure the front office is appropriately staffed and covered during all required hours. Coordinate coverage for employee call-ins, vacations, emergencies, and staffing shortages. Work an open front office shift when necessary and reasonably able. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays. Assist with interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and supporting front office employees. Address attendance, performance, communication, and policy concerns in coordination with leadership. Oversee and assist with client intakes, incident reports, shift logs, daily case notes, and other required documentation. Ensure staff complete assigned duties, security procedures, checklists, and documentation accurately and on time. Communicate regularly with leadership regarding staffing, incidents, client concerns, security issues, and operational needs. Respond to client concerns, behavioral incidents, emergencies, and other high-stress situations calmly and professionally. Ensure NRM rules and guidelines are followed consistently and fairly. Oversee building access, visitor procedures, front desk operations, keys, and general building safety. Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the front office and common areas. Maintain positive and professional relationships with staff, clients, volunteers, community members, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and service providers. Attend required staff, supervisory, and organizational meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous supervisory, leadership, or team lead experience is strongly preferred. High school diploma or GED required. One or more years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to supervise, train, coach, and provide clear direction to employees. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm, firm, respectful, and professional during high-stress situations. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect confidential information. Ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. Comfortable using computers, phones, email, and our case management software. Ability to complete and review written documentation accurately and professionally. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
