Job Description
Front End Manager 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Job Summary The Front End Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-end operations to ensure exceptional customer service, accurate cash handling, and smooth daily store flow. This role serves as the face of the store , leading and assisting cashiers and the front-end supervisor while upholding Livoti's Old World Market's standards of hospitality, professionalism, and Old World customer care. Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Experience Deliver a warm, welcoming, and elevated customer experience consistent with Livoti's brand values Handle customer complaints, refunds, returns, and escalations professionally and efficiently Resolve issues related to pricing, promotions, coupons, and receipts Ensure all customers are greeted, assisted, and thanked Lead by example in tone, body language, and service standards Front End Operations Oversee daily operations of: Checkout lanes Service desk Self-checkout (if applicable) Ensure proper coverage during peak and slow periods Maintain cleanliness and organization of front-end areas Monitor transaction accuracy and speed of service Enforce all front-end policies and procedures Cash Handling & Financial Controls Ensure accurate cash handling procedures are followed at all times Perform and verify: Cash drawer counts Safe counts Deposits and change orders Investigate and document cash variances Enforce loss prevention and fraud prevention practices Ensure compliance with company and audit standards Staff Leadership & Training Supervise, train, and coach: Cashiers Customer service staff Front end supervisors Conduct onboarding and ongoing training Schedule front-end staff to meet business needs Enforce dress code, attendance, and conduct standards Deliver feedback, recognition, and corrective action as needed Scheduling & Labor Management Create and manage front-end schedules Approve time punches, breaks, and meal periods Manage call-outs and coverage adjustments Control labor costs while maintaining service levels Manager on Duty (MOD) Responsibilities Act as Manager on Duty when assigned Open and/or close the store following company procedures Respond to emergencies, safety concerns, or customer incidents Coordinate with other department managers (Deli, Prepared Foods, Meat, Bakery) Ensure smooth store operations during assigned shifts Policies, Safety & Compliance Enforce all company policies, safety procedures, and labor laws Ensure compliance with local and state regulations Maintain incident reports, customer reports, and front-end logs Support asset protection and shrink reduction initiatives QualificationsRequired 2+ years of retail or grocery front-end leadership experience Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills Proven cash-handling and supervisory experience Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Flexible availability (days, nights, weekends, holidays) Preferred Grocery or specialty food retail experience Experience with POS systems and scheduling software Prior Manager on Duty experience Bilingual a plus Skills & Competencies Leadership & team development Customer-first mindset Strong communication skills Organization and attention to detail Problem-solving under pressure Time management and adaptability Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the store Work Environment Fast-paced grocery retail environment High customer interaction Requires professionalism, patience, and consistency
