- depending on education Job Summary The Supervisor of Social Enterprises is responsible for bringing creative ideas forward, ensuring the productivity of individuals with disabilities within our vocational program, and promote the success of apparel/floral shop.
Responsible for the effective management of all shops assigned, working interchangeably amongst the sites according to need. Responsible for providing creative ideas and artistic designs. Effectively communicating all necessary information between sites to ensure everyone is informed and working together. Provides a prescriptive and evaluative vocational program focused on each shop's expertise, merchandising, and customer service. Educating individual workers in the design and engaging them in the creation of items for sale. Ensuring vocational needs are being met while providing a positive and valuable employment experience. Supervises the use of instructional techniques, materials, training resources, and professional consultation as necessary to develop, refine and/or enhance the quality of the vocational programming provided. Teaching individual workers new ideas and skills that will help increase their future employability. Supervises, schedules, evaluates, and disciples all assigned Social Enterprise staff. Ensures the use of consistent practices in hiring, completing performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with Woods Services policies. Responsible for keeping accurate records of shop costs and revenue; following accounting/billing procedures, as designed. Maintains and manages records, inventory on all orders, billing, invoicing, and payroll (client and staff). Works with cash and credit card purchases in a sales environment using designated equipment and technologies. Responsible to exchange and balance funds with efficiency. Utilizes a Point of Sales system and maintains a knowledge of system abilities and available programs to best enhance inventory control, billing, and customer service. Promotes positive community relations, building relationships, and establishing partnerships. Dedicated to increasing business and foot traffic to shop sites; running specials and promotions, and procuring contracts with community businesses. Responsible for the merchandise in the shops. Implements systems to track and maintain accurate inventory, ensuring necessary items are in stock and prepared for sales demand. Active participant in ensuring prices are competitive and items are creative, diversified, and pleasing to the consumer. Assists in the marketing of the shops assigned including the ongoing maintenance and timely updates of the website as well as the development of creative and effective communications: advertising, newsletter installments, special announcements, etc. Ensures jobs are completed efficiently, timely, and in accordance with the specifications of customers. Understands the regulations that govern programming and ensures compliance including the accurate completion of all necessary documentation for each individual worker according to deadlines and the daily use of an electronic health record to track behavior, attendance, progress, etc. Works together with each individual's team to ensure information is effectively communicated, all needs (assistance in personal care/mealtime, LOS, use of adaptive equipment, etc.) as stipulated in the ISP can be met in the shop environment and the vocational program implemented in the shop is appropriate and best meets the individual's personal and professional growth. Dedicated to learning and increasing skills/knowledge in the floral, personalization, print, and design industry for self as well as employees. Ensures self and employees meet all Woods' annual training requirements. Able to independently work within, access, and/or approve information in all applicable computer software programs including, but not limited to Carelogic (EHR), Kronos Dimensions, Paycom (Payroll), Relias (Training), and SharePoint, as assigned. Maintains a clean, safe, organized, and presentable work environment, which includes the exterior of assigned buildings and the maintenance of materials and equipment. The landscape is to be maintained and presentable throughout the year. Responsible for all deliveries, including personally completing the delivery and/or the coordination of it, ensuring the delivery is packed correctly and arrives timely and according to customer specifications. Plans ahead for holidays and remains in tune and knowledgeable of trends in each shop specialty's community. Awareness of and participation in area events and festivals, as appropriate. Works cooperatively with and acts as a support to all Woods' Social Enterprises, including participation in cross-training if temporary reassignment is needed in an alternate Social Enterprise. Hosts and/or attends and participates in training sessions, staff meetings, and special events or assignments, as required. Maintains effective relationships with all levels of staff and management. Performs other duties as assigned to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have own transportation and a valid driver's license. Proof of valid automobile insurance is submitted annually. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or proof of enrollment in an AA program is required. Supervisory experience in a customer service/retail environment preferred. Knowledge and experience in the specified social enterprise is required. Willingness to attend classes/conferences, possibly outside of scheduled work hours is required. Experience serving people with special needs is preferred.
