Job Description
Kai Home Care | Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi $30-$36 per hour | Approximately 15-20 hours per week initially Primarily work from home, with required client home visits on Oʻahu Kai Home Care helps older adults and families on Oʻahu with personal care, homemaker assistance and support at home. We are hiring someone who knows how to supervise caregivers, work through difficult situations with families, and make sure agreed-upon care actually happens. This position intentionally starts part-time. We expect it to grow into full-time work as our client base expands, with the opportunity to take responsibility for day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone who wants that long-term leadership path. The timing will depend on business needs and performance; a specific conversion date is not guaranteed. What you will own initially Develop, review, update and sign client service plans with clients or their representatives. Visit clients at home, observe caregivers and evaluate the quality of services provided. Make sure caregivers understand and follow each client's service plan. Coach and train caregivers, address performance and attendance concerns, and follow through on corrective action. Communicate with clients and families, respond to changing needs and resolve service concerns. Keep clear, timely records and support home care compliance. Help with caregiver orientation and training and provide operational support as needed. Kai provides non-medical home care. This role focuses on supervision of personal care and homemaker services. The experience we need You must have been responsible for directing and evaluating other caregivers or direct-care employees. You should be able to explain a situation where you corrected poor performance, handled a difficult client or family concern, and took responsibility for resolving the problem. Direct caregiving experience alone is not sufficient for this position. A professional license is welcome, but we also need demonstrated staff-management ability. Candidates must qualify as a Hawaiʻi home care agency supervisor through relevant experience or training, or qualifying professional licensure. Hawaiʻi recognizes a route based on at least two years of experience or training in home care or a closely related personal care or homemaker-services industry. RN, LPN, social work, PT and OT licenses are among the professional routes recognized. We will review and verify qualifications individually. Relevant backgrounds may include home care supervision, client care management, care coordination, home health or hospice leadership, and assisted living or senior-care supervision. You should also be able to: Make sound decisions independently and recognize when a situation needs escalation. Address concerns respectfully and directly, including with employees who are well-liked. Stay organized when client needs, staffing problems and documentation compete for attention. Use scheduling software, electronic records, email and other online systems comfortably. Work from Oʻahu, maintain reliable transportation and travel to clients' homes. Work the initial part-time schedule and be interested in a future full-time leadership role. The opportunity You will work directly with ownership in a growing local agency. As the role develops, responsibilities may expand to intake, starts of care, scheduling, staffing coverage, onboarding and management of other operational employees.
