Job Description
Job Summary The Marketing Manager is responsible for serving as the day-to-day client lead for CMA's B2B and B2C marketing accounts, building strong client relationships, providing strategic oversight, and guiding internal teams to ensure all deliverables are completed on time, on budget and aligned with client goals. This position also supports marketing strategy and execution for CMA's association management clients, working closely with Client Directors to identify opportunities, develop campaigns, support board-level strategy discussions and ensure marketing initiatives are effectively planned, communicated, implemented and measured for success and ROI. The Marketing Manager serves as the primary handoff point once new marketing accounts are brought in by sales and is responsible for managing and overseeing the marketing execution team. This position reports to the Vice President. Core Values Passion Enthusiasm Collaboration Candor Solutions Oriented Accountability Purpose Major Responsibility Areas (MRAs) Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned B2B and B2C marketing clients, building trusted relationships and maintaining consistent communication. Provide strategic oversight for marketing accounts, ensuring recommendations, campaigns and deliverables align with each client's goals, budget and overall business objectives. Lead internal coordination for assigned marketing accounts, guiding creative, content, digital, web, PR, social and other execution team members to ensure deadlines and expectations are met. Monitor project timelines, budgets, scopes of work and deliverables to ensure client work remains on track and within approved parameters. Manage the transition of new marketing accounts from sales to execution, ensuring a clear understanding of scope, goals, expectations, timelines and internal responsibilities. Work closely with Client Directors on association accounts to support marketing strategy, campaign development, member engagement initiatives, event promotion, sponsorship support and other strategic programs. Support board-facing marketing strategy for association clients, including preparing recommendations, campaign concepts, updates and performance insights as needed. Identify opportunities to expand or enhance marketing support for existing clients through proactive strategy, campaign recommendations and thoughtful account growth. Oversee and manage marketing execution team members as direct reports, providing direction, accountability, and support. Ensure internal team members understand client priorities, deliverables, timelines and quality expectations. Review marketing deliverables for strategic alignment, accuracy, brand consistency and client readiness before presentation or deployment. Maintain strong knowledge of client industries, audiences, competitors and marketing trends to inform strategic recommendations. Support client reporting, performance analysis and campaign recap development, helping translate results into actionable next steps. Collaborate with the Vice President on account strategy, team management, workflow improvements and opportunities to strengthen CMA's marketing service delivery. Assist in identifying process improvements that support stronger communication, efficiency, accountability and profitability across marketing accounts. Represent CMA professionally in client meetings, internal planning discussions and strategic presentations. Additional marketing operational duties as identified. Part of leadership team to support development of best practices and processes. Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field, with at least 7 years of progressive marketing account management experience, including client strategy, integrated campaign oversight and team leadership. CMA works on a hybrid schedule, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
