Job Description

Leading Home Care is searching for an On-Call Service Coordinator to field and respond to calls while our office is closed. This is a work-from-home position and calls can be received at anytime while On-Call; however, there are also scenarios wherein the OCS Coordinator may need to cover shifts for other staff who call out. This is a great position for someone who is looking to earn extra money by working nights & weekends, with every other week (and weekend) off.
Schedule:
Monday through Sunday, 7-on / 7-off. During 7 days on, schedule is Monday through Friday 4:30pm
  • 8:30am (overnight), through Saturday & Sunday until 8:30am Monday morning.
The OCS Coordinator will report to the office for a short period of time on Mondays for call turnover.
Pay Rate:
The OCS Coordinator will be paid a daily stipend for being available to answer calls when our office is closed. $60/day Monday-Thursday; $80/day Friday; $90/day Saturday-Sunday. (Weekly rate of $500) Additionally, if you are called out to cover a Direct Support Worker's shift, you will also get paid the hourly rate for that case. ($9/hr or greater, variable)
Training:
A minimum of 2 weeks of in-office New Hire training; Monday-Friday 8:30am
  • 4:30pm. Additional training time may be required if needed. Key Responsibilities Include Answer calls received outside of office hours from clients & staff. (Evenings & Weekends
  • equipment is provided) Provide high-quality customer service to callers, answering questions or giving directions as needed.
Be polite and respectful at all times. Communicate with staff, clients, & families regarding last minute schedule changes, call-ins, or late arrivals. Use LHCL's caregiver database to find shift coverage in case of staff cancellations, and contact caregivers for fill-ins. Work in-home shifts with clients as a Direct Support Worker if unable to find replacement in the case of call-outs. Remain on shift until relief arrives. Attend weekly Staffing meetings on Mondays in the office to turn over notes from your week on-call. Communicate with Staffing Coordinators, Client Care Managers, and/or Director regarding any issues that came up after office hours. Follow protocol in reaching out to the designated supervisor for assistance while on-call. Follow medical emergency action steps or other emergency training when directing clients or staff through urgent or crisis situations. Follow program rules & LDH requirements as learned in training, and display LHCL's values of Compassion, Trust, Integrity, and Accountability Qualifications Include Must be at least 18 years old Must maintain & provide copy of current valid Driver's License, Social Security Card, & Auto Insurance, and have access to consistent and reliable transportation Caregiving experience is preferred but not required Experience providing excellent customer service, communicating professionally via phone, and using computer software to access information Must be willing to serve as backup Direct Support Worker when needed after-hours Must be punctual, dependable, respectful, patient, self-directing, able to work with little supervision, and willing and eager to fulfill accepted case assignments Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions in English Specific physical requirements may include bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50lbs. Satisfactorily pass all required employment eligibility verifications including criminal background, sex offender, and state & federal Medicaid exclusions checks.
