About Us Muslow + Agnew Group, LLC is a dynamic and growing CPA firm with offices in Louisiana, Texas, and Alaska. We provide tax, accounting, advisory, and Client Accounting Services (CAS) to clients across a diverse range of industries, including healthcare, real estate, construction, and professional services. As our CAS practice continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Controller/CAS Manager to lead client engagements, oversee accounting operations, and serve as a trusted financial advisor to our clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled accounting professional who enjoys both leadership and client-facing advisory work in a fast-paced public accounting environment. Position Overview The Senior Controller/CAS Manager will oversee a portfolio of client accounting engagements, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and provide strategic financial insights that help clients make informed business decisions. This role combines traditional controller-level responsibilities with a forward-thinking advisory approach, including financial reporting, process improvement, budgeting support, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Advisory & Financial Oversight Serve as the lead advisor for a portfolio of CAS clients across multiple industries Review and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements Provide strategic insights on cash flow, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs) Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Support clients with operational and financial process improvements Accounting Operations Oversee month-end and year-end close processes Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations Review staff-prepared workpapers, journal entries, and account analyses Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal control best practices Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and review the work of CAS team members Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management Collaborate closely with tax and advisory teams on client deliverables Help manage workflow capacity across the CAS team Process Improvement & Technology Standardize accounting workflows and best practices across client engagements Leverage technology platforms such as QuickBooks Online, BILL, and payroll systems such as Gusto Identify automation opportunities and operational efficiencies Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools Qualifications 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or CAS Manager Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting operations Prior experience managing multiple clients, entities, or business units preferred Public accounting or outsourced accounting/CAS experience strongly preferred CPA preferred, but not required Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills Experience with QuickBooks Online, BILL, Gusto, Xero, and similar platforms Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Flexible schedule Hybrid / remote work options Health and life insurance Paid time off and firm holidays Retirement plan Professional development and continuing education support Why Join Muslow + Agnew Group, LLC Collaborative and supportive leadership team Opportunity to help shape and grow an expanding CAS practice Exposure to diverse industries and complex client engagements Meaningful leadership role with direct impact on firm growth
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
