Job Description

Service Manager / Area Manager - Federal Facilities Renew Safety Solutions is seeking two experienced Service Managers / Area Managers to support a federal facilities maintenance and repair contract: One position supporting the El Paso Sector One position supporting the Big Bend Sector The Service Manager will serve as the primary field leader for their assigned sector and will be responsible for daily operations, workforce coordination, customer communication, and the successful completion of facility maintenance and repair services. This is a field-focused position requiring the Service Manager to spend at least 70% of their working time at supported facilities and active work locations. Key Responsibilities Direct day-to-day maintenance, repair, and service operations throughout the assigned sector. Schedule and coordinate service technicians, specialty trades, vendors, and subcontractors. Assign work based on technician qualifications, workload, priorities, and customer requirements. Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, materials, permits, and information needed before beginning work. Serve as the primary operational contact for local facility customers. Coordinate scheduled, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities. Review service requests and establish priorities based on safety, urgency, operational impact, and contract requirements. Monitor work progress and ensure assignments are completed safely, on schedule, and within the approved scope. Conduct field inspections and verify the quality of completed building-system and equipment work. Identify deficiencies and coordinate timely corrective action. Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with contract requirements. Maintain accurate work orders, inspection records, service reports, schedules, and supporting documentation. Coordinate with project leadership, quality control, environmental, safety, and administrative personnel. Track labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor requirements for assigned projects. Communicate service interruptions, schedule changes, and operational concerns to customers and project leadership. Support emergency response and after-hours service coordination when required. Promote strong safety, quality, accountability, and customer-service standards across the assigned sector. Mandatory Qualifications Candidates must meet all three of the following requirements: At least three years of hands-on experience as a technician working with HVAC or mechanical systems. At least three years of experience performing quality control inspections of building systems and equipment. At least five years of experience managing service technicians. Applicants who do not meet all three mandatory experience requirements may not be considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification. Experience managing facility maintenance and repair services across multiple locations. Experience supporting federal government facilities or similar regulated environments. Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance programs, work-order management, and building systems. Experience managing subcontractors and specialty trade contractors. Strong leadership, scheduling, problem-solving, and customer-service skills. Ability to review technical documents, scopes of work, inspection reports, and service records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems. Location and Travel Requirements The selected candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, their assigned sector: El Paso Sector Big Bend Sector Frequent local and regional travel is required. Service Managers must be available to spend a minimum of 70% of their working time in the field. Applicants should clearly identify their preferred sector when applying. Work Environment This position involves regular travel to active facilities and work areas. Candidates must be comfortable conducting field inspections, coordinating technicians and subcontractors, and working around operating HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
