Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Service Bay Manager, the Service Bay Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service team. This role is responsible for greeting customers, scheduling appointments, preparing work orders, and communicating service recommendations clearly and professionally. The Service Bay Advisor ensures a positive customer experience while coordinating workflow within the service bay to maximize efficiency and productivity.
This position requires strong customer service skills, automotive knowledge, and attention to detail to ensure repairs are accurately documented, priced, and completed in accordance with company standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Customer Service & CommunicationGreet customers in a professional, friendly manner and assess their service needsGather vehicle and customer information, listen to concerns, and translate them into clear service requestsPrepare and explain repair estimates, service recommendations, and maintenance schedulesCommunicate effectively with customers about repair progress, timelines, and any additional findingsHandle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionallyEnsure customer satisfaction through follow-up communication and post-service reviewsService CoordinationCreate, track, and close work orders accurately using the companys service management systemSchedule and prioritize service appointments to balance technician workload and minimize downtimeCoordinate vehicle movement between the service bay, parking areas, and customer pickupMaintain close communication with technicians regarding diagnostic results and repair progressVerify that all required parts, materials, and documentation are available for scheduled workOperational SupportAssist the Service Bay Manager in daily workflow and operational planningEnsure compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and safety proceduresMaintain organized and accurate records of service requests, invoices, and paymentsSupport marketing and promotional initiatives related to automotive servicesContribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both customer and service areasEducation and Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; some college or technical coursework preferred24 years of customer service experience in an automotive or related environment requiredKnowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes preferredValid drivers license with a clean driving record requiredSkill SetExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale or service management softwareHigh attention to detail and accuracy in documentationAbility to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work weekends and extended hours as neededProfessional demeanor and customer-first attitudePhysical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
