Service Advisor Fremont Auto Center, Fremont, CA $25 per hour, plus team bonus opportunities Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm
About Us:
We're an independently owned automotive repair shop that has served the Fremont community since 1989. Our customers trust us to explain what's happening with their vehicles, give them honest recommendations, and help them make informed decisions without pressure.
What We Do:
Fremont Auto Center is a place where doing the right thing matters. Our shop handles everything from routine maintenance to complex diagnostics and mechanical repairs. We work with professional diagnostic equipment, computerized repair information, and digital vehicle inspections to help customers understand what their vehicles need. When a customer comes in with a vehicle problem, we don't start by trying to sell them everything on an inspection. We listen to their concerns, identify safety issues, explain what needs attention, and help them understand their options. You'll work directly with an owner who has spent decades diagnosing and repairing vehicles, including extensive experience with Mercedes-Benz and other European and Asian vehicles.
Who We Are Looking For:
We're looking for a friendly, organized, and motivated Service Advisor who enjoys helping people and wants to build a career in the automotive industry. Automotive experience is a plus, but it's not required. If you've worked in retail, hospitality, customer service, or sales and know how to make people feel welcome while keeping a busy day organized, we'd love to meet you. We'll help you develop the knowledge needed to explain repairs, understand estimates, and become comfortable with the service advisor role. What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your ability to think through problems. Think about the last time someone gave you genuinely great customer service. They listened, answered your questions, made you feel comfortable, and followed through on what they promised. That's the kind of experience we want our customers to have at Fremont Auto Center. We're more interested in finding the right person than someone who already knows every automotive term or repair process. You'll be a good fit if you: Have experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or sales. Enjoy talking with people and building genuine relationships. Can remain professional and respectful when dealing with frustrated customers. Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Think logically and look for solutions rather than waiting for someone else to solve every problem. Are comfortable learning new computer systems and processes. Take responsibility for your work and follow through on commitments. Welcome coaching, feedback, and opportunities to improve. Bring a positive attitude and can be friendly and playful while remaining professional. A valid driver's license is required. No ASE certifications or previous service advisor certifications are required.
Pay, Schedule & Growth Opportunities:
We believe good work should be recognized, and we want you to have an opportunity to grow as you develop your skills. Starting pay of $25 per hour Team-based bonus opportunities Monday through Friday business hours, 8am to 5pm Weekends off Hands-on learning alongside experienced automotive professionals Opportunities to develop your sales, customer service, and automotive knowledge Potential advancement into lead service advisor or management positions as your skills and responsibilities grow At Fremont Auto Center, advancement is based on your ability, performance, and willingness to take responsibility, not simply how long you've been with the company.
Continued Education:
We also believe in continuing education. Our owner actively invests time in automotive training and stays involved in learning new processes, technology, and ways to improve the business. We expect people to take ownership of their work, pay attention to details, and ask questions when they need help. You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but you will be expected to care about learning.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Service Advisor, you'll be one of the first people our customers interact with. You'll help create an experience that makes them feel comfortable bringing their vehicles back. Your day will include welcoming customers, listening to their concerns, coordinating appointments, and keeping them informed throughout the repair process. You'll learn to review vehicle inspection findings, explain recommended services, prepare estimates, and communicate with technicians to help keep work moving. You'll also help coordinate parts, track repair progress, follow up with customers, and make sure important details don't get overlooked. Some days will be busy, with phones ringing, customers arriving, and several things needing attention at once. We need someone who can stay organized, recognize priorities, and keep a friendly attitude even when the day doesn't go exactly as planned. Most importantly, you'll help customers feel confident that they're being treated fairly and their vehicles are being taken care of properly. Ready to Build a Career in Automotive Service? If you're the kind of person who remembers a customer's name, stays calm when things get busy, and takes pride in doing your job well, we'd like to hear from you. At Fremont Auto Center, you'll have the opportunity to turn your customer service skills into a rewarding career, learn from experienced automotive professionals, and become part of a shop where customers appreciate being treated with honesty and respect. We handle the beginning stages of the hiring process, including a preliminary phone interview and a secondary virtual interview, before introducing qualified candidates to the shop for an in-person interview. Our goal isn't just to help the shop find the right person. It's also to help you find a shop where you'll be happy and successful.
