Who We Are Looking For Act as the first point of contact for John Moran Auctioneers valued customers providing outstanding customer service at all times. Manage phones, general email box, and online bidding platforms responding to client questions / concerns, escalating when necessary. Manage client expectations regarding response times. Provide pre-sale, sale day, and post-sale support by approving bidders on all online platforms, in person and by phone; enter and ensure accuracy of phone and absentee bids; take payments and assist with unpaid bidders, escalating as necessary. Essential Job Functions Customer Care Act as the first point of customer contact by answering phones, general email and online platform enquiries Greet customers at the front door ensuring initial contact warm and inviting Work directly with customers throughout the entire auction process ensuring a positive experience at all times; registration, placing bids, receiving payments Manage and approve bidders on all online platforms following established company guidelines; provide reports on bidders who do not meet approval criteria prior to auction day Assist customers during appraisal events Review, & route valuation requests ensuring complete information is delivered to specialists in a timely manner; follow up with customers to obtain additional information when a request is incomplete; manage client expectations regarding response times Cashiering and Accounts Receivable Receive payments and check out successful bidders during and after the auction ensuring company paperwork and guidelines are followed Assist with accounts receivable by monitoring and following up on aging open invoices; report and follow up on outstanding invoices Qualifications Prior auction house, museum or gallery experience preferred 1-year cash handling experience required Outstanding organization, communication and problem resolution skills Detail-oriented and accurate Experience working with high call volumes Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deadlines Ability to work independently and within groups to see a project through to competition PC literate in MS Office applications Excel, Word and Outlook. The ability to adapt to new programs as required Experience working with art objects a plus Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm, with occasional overtime and weekends.
