Job Summary:
The Guest Service Representative is responsible for creating a delightful first impression for patients, guests, staff and doctors. Central in this role is providing support to front desk volunteers. Works collaboratively with departments and employees to oversee operational systems to greet, check-in all guests, patients and employees. Provide directions, escort patients and guests to all destinations inside the hospital and the Professional Office Building (POB) building. Follows established guidelines to receive and answer patient questions, comments or complaints. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
Some college coursework preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of basic computer software and phone systems. Basic typing skills. Bilingual highly preferred. Operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; perform basic math functions; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Recognize faces, hear on the phone/in person/in the environment, and see or hear equipment indicators. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
