Job Description

24 Carrot Farm is a diversified certified organic farm situated in the Apple Hill area of Placerville, CA. We have 12 acres of annual and perennial vegetables, herbs and flowers, and several acres of established apple varieties. We follow agroecological farming practices and are committed to farming using sustainable and restorative techniques. Our operations include on site farm stand , u-pick, and wholesale to local grocers and restaurants, educational and community field trips and events. Needs to be available Friday - Tuesday 9:00am-5:30pm Job Description The Cashier/Customer service associate is primarily responsible for checking out guests at the register. Keeping the shelves stocked, and being constantly engaged with the customers. Strong produce knowledge is a bonus! Cash Handling and POS experience is a must! A large portion of this job will be 'back-of-house' type work. Prepping food, stocking shelves, bagging/sorting etc. Assist customers during their shopping experience. The representative of the farm store and should be bright, cheerful and excel in customer service and salesmanship. Knowledge of produce, where it is coming from, and how to cook with vegetables. Customers are constantly asking how to cook/prepare certain items, and learning how to describe and guide them to purchase these products is crucial. Set up and breakdown Farmstand and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Farmstand and surrounding area Maintain produce quality throughout the day (i.e. temperature control, hydration) and keep produce displays up to the agreed upon standards Learn produce varieties, growing standards and Farmstand products. Operate register, scales, and perform cash counting duties. Ensuring quality control of farm products and services.
Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant retail experience; farm, warehouse/grocery or equivalent Great customer service abilities Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks and work effectively in a team environment Strong organizational skills Able to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks; able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Communicate as needed with team via email, cell phone and text message Needs to be available Friday - Tuesday 9:00am-5:30pm
