Cashier / Retail Customer Service Associate

REPORTS TO

Customer Service Manager Work for a local, independently owned/operated Grocery Outlet. There is always something to do and bargains on brand names to brag about. This is an entry level position. Entry level is where most new hires start…even the owner started by bagging groceries! JOB DESCRIPTION

Cashiers have one of the most important roles in the store, because they're the ones who interact with customers the most. We are looking for energetic, friendly people who can engage our customers, meet their needs, and be the reason they choose to keep coming back to our store. Aside from your regularly scheduled breaks, this job requires you to be on your feet for the entire shift, usually 8 hours. You must also be able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis. At the checkout stand, accuracy is top priority, followed closely by speed. You must be able to move your hands quickly while ensuring every item is scanned and ringing up correctly. Cashier s must keep additional written notations and accurate documentation of transactions, so the ability to multi-task is essential. Between customers cashiers stay busy at the front. If you are excited by the idea of getting to know your customers so well you can call them by name, and working a fast-paced, multi-function job, this is the job for you!

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide outstanding customer service by acknowledging the customer, identifying their needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, resolving issues and concerns, and promoting the Company's products and services. Project your voice loud and clear over the store intercom to call for assistance when needed. Cashier s answer phone calls in a professional manner, usually during a transaction.
