Description of Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing all tasks and communication related to intake of patient information concerning the service of durable medical equipment (DME) and respiratory products and supplies with patients/clients, co-workers, and referral sources as it relates to patient services and third party reimbursement. Responsibilities of the CSR include the following: Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients. Communicates with patients/clients and referral sources both verbally and in writing to ensure patient/client questions and concerns are processed in a timely manner. Involved, as directed, in all aspects of the intake process: answering the phone and processing faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, inputting data into appropriate systems, assembling charts and processing paperwork. Prepares delivery tickets for daily routes. Prepares complete and accurate files for billing department. Develops and maintains working knowledge of current products and services offered by the company. Provide technical assistance to customers, as appropriate. Develops and maintains a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medi-Cal, private insurances and regulatory body regulations. Assist in the upkeep of the general office area(s). Assist in resolving client equipment problems when appropriate. Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with Company policy. Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with Company policy. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies. Participate in the Company's Performance Management program as requested by the Performance Management Coordinator. Participate in Company committees when requested. Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. One year of home medical equipment experience preferred. Strong customer service background preferred.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to operate office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
