We are currently seeking a Customer Service Technician to join our team. This opening is , and we're excited to bring on someone who wants to grow with us. At IER, a Customer Service Tech is responsible for assisting customers with loading and unloading equipment, performing safety checks and minor services, washing and fueling equipment, and keeping the yard clean and organized. This is a fast‑paced yet safety‑focused position that plays a key role in our daily operations and customer experience. Position Overview The Customer Service Tech supports the rental yard by preparing equipment, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and delivering excellent customer service. This role is hands‑on, physically active, and ideal for someone who values safety, teamwork, and learning new skills. Key Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and professionally as they arrive at the yard Assist customers with loading and unloading rental equipment Provide basic equipment guidance, including safe handling and operation expectations Communicate clearly with counter staff, drivers, and mechanics to ensure smooth customer experience Safety & Equipment Handling Perform pre‑ and post‑rental equipment checks to ensure proper operation and safety compliance Complete minor services such as washing, fueling, and basic equipment preparation Identify and report equipment damage, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately Maintain a clean, hazard‑free yard by following all safety protocols and housekeeping procedures Use proper PPE at all times and model safe behavior for customers and coworkers Yard Operations Organize equipment in designated yard areas for efficient access and workflow Operate forklifts, loaders, and other yard equipment (training provided if needed) Assist with inventory counts and equipment tracking Support delivery drivers with staging and loading equipment for transport Perform general yard maintenance and light facility upkeep Qualifications Strong commitment to safety and willingness to follow all procedures Customer‑service mindset with effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds Frequent bending, climbing, and physical activity required Familiarity with construction equipment preferred but not required — we will train the right individual Experience in equipment rental, construction, landscaping, or warehouse environments is helpful Forklift certification or equipment operation experience is a plus Work Environment Outdoor yard setting with exposure to weather and active equipment Fast‑paced environment with frequent customer interaction Requires use of PPE and adherence to strict safety standards
