The Evans County Health Department is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of Bilingual Customer Service Representative based in Claxton, GA. Who We Are. Under limited supervision, performs a variety of administrative and clerical support functions requiring working knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and operations. Provides customer service, guidance, and technical assistance to clients, staff, and the general public in support of Public Health programs. Serves as a bilingual resource by interpreting and translating orally and in writing for clients receiving health services across multiple program areas. Assists with researching, compiling, and analyzing program and operational data and prepares routine reports as required. Supports daily office operations and contributes to the efficient delivery of public health services. This position will travel between Evans County Health Department and the Candler County Health Department as needed. Bilingual-Spanish/Haitian Creole. High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience communicating information in a customer service setting are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data entry. Experience in a public health environment and prior work in an office and/or clinic setting are preferred. Candidates should also possess strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and the public. The Southeast Health District (SEHD) is committed to fostering a culture of health and well-being among its employees. To assist employees in achieving their wellness goals, the use of designated wellness breaks during the workday is authorized. Employees may utilize up to 30 minutes per workday for wellness activities, which can be taken as two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break. Southeast Health District accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. SEHD will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc. The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
