Based on experience Job Summary All American Truck and Trailer Repair is seeking a motivated and dependable Shop Helper to assist in the daily operations of our diesel repair shop. This role supports technicians, maintains shop organization, handles parts and deliveries, and assists with service writing and customer service. It's an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the diesel repair industry. Key Responsibilities
  • Pick up and deliver parts from local suppliers
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, including sweeping, trash removal, and tool staging
  • Assist technicians with work orders, including entering job notes, locating parts, and supporting repair tasks
  • Help with service writing duties: creating work orders, updating job status, and communicating with mechanics
  • Provide front desk support by greeting customers and answering basic inquiries
  • Release vehicles to customers upon payment and ensure all documentation is complete
  • Scan and file receipts and paperwork for Accounts Payable
  • Support technicians as needed to ensure efficient workflow and timely job completion Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record (required for parts pickup)
  • Basic understanding of vehicle repair and shop operations (diesel experience is a plus)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Customer service mindset and willingness to learn
  • Computer literacy (experience with service software is a bonus)
