About McIntosh Trail At McIntosh Trail Community Service Board, we offer individuals experiencing symptoms associated with mental illness, addictive disease and/or developmental disability the hope for optimal functioning and recovery by providing quality behavioral health services and supports. Summary Supervises, guides, and /or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff, Assists with daily living activities at the person's home, in a daytime non-residential facility or a residential facility. Observes and monitors client's behavior and charts observations and incidents. Provides training of basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills to consumers/ students in a state school, hospital, juvenile detention facility, residence, group home, workshop, or supported employment environment. May assist with meal preparation, ensuring or encouraging client group activity, providing transportation, and/or limited case management. Responsibilities Assist in providing care to adults with developmental disabilities. Direct care includes but not limited to personal hygiene/grooming needs, supervision of staff, administration of medication, planning and preparing nutritious meals/snacks, planning recreational/leisure activities, and transporting to and from doctor's appointments/activities as needed and light housekeeping. Monthly monitoring of duties, computer assessments, scheduling of the home and being the back-up on the schedule. Must be able to drive to out of town appointments. Must be able to transfer physician orders and have leadership abilities. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR One year of experience providing social or direct care services to groups of special needs individuals in a human service setting OR One year of experience at the lower-level Client Support Worker 1 (SSS010) or position equivalent.
Note:
Some positions require a valid driver's license. Physical Demands may include Ability to lift and transfer individuals in a safe manner. This includes proper positioning and assisting with ambulation. (manually and /or utilizing a Hoyer lift.) Loading and unloading individuals in a wheelchair van. Pushing individuals in wheelchairs at the center or in the community Sitting, standing and/or walking, pushing/pulling, handling, reaching, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing (ladders or stairs), overhead reaching.
