Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Mechanic Service Writer and Salesman to join our automotive service team. In this role, you will serve as the vital link between our skilled technicians and valued customers, ensuring clear communication of vehicle repairs, maintenance needs, and service recommendations. Your energetic approach will help drive sales through upselling and excellent customer service while managing service writing duties with transparency and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine mechanical expertise with sales acumen, contributing to a positive customer experience and the overall success of our shop. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs for service writers and technicians. Write detailed service estimates, including auto diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, transmission repairs, engine repairs, shocks & struts, and brake systems. Effectively upsell additional services and products by explaining benefits clearly to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue. Communicate repair findings from automotive diagnostics to customers in an understandable manner while providing transparent estimates for parts and labor. Collaborate with technicians to prioritize repairs based on urgency and customer needs; ensure timely completion of services. Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining detailed records of all service sales and customer interactions. Maintain a thorough knowledge of automotive repair procedures, including mechanical knowledge across various systems such as transmissions, suspensions, brakes, alignments, shocks & struts, tires, and engines. Experience Mechanical experience or auto service management background with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes. Hands-on mechanic experience with expertise in vehicle maintenance, auto estimating, and automotive repair techniques. Demonstrated success in sales roles with a focus on customer service excellence. Familiarity with service writing software and auto estimating tools is preferred. Knowledge of various automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, tire services, oil changes, shocks & struts is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent communication skills to educate customers effectively. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism in all customer interactions.
