Job Description

Service Advisor Position Specifics Department:
Service Reports to: Service Manager / Store Manager Purpose Assists the service manager in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department's operation within the dealership. Answers customer inquiries about service work and generates repair quotes. Prepares and manages work orders to ensure technicians have work in front of them. Responsibilities Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department. Opens and closes work orders as directed by the Service Manager Maintains service department filings and records under the direct supervision of the Service Manager Update's customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work order Maintains service accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders Prepares Service Technician labor performance, productivity, and efficiency reports Process warranty and/or product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission and follow-up Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments Makes necessary corrections and / or adjustments to receive accurate report information Supplies Service Technicians with parts Works on the Parts Counter as needed to support Customer Part needs. Knowledgeable of Parts Advisor and location of all parts in stock. Capable of working after hours to secure parts request to meet the needs of the customer Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products Other tasks assigned by management
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
Experience working in a service and parts department Understands accounting fundamentals such as debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgets Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions Works well in a team environment Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing High level of attention to detail and accuracy High School Diploma or equivalent experience
