Student Customer Service Assistant (CSA) - BG1 Card Bowling Green State University, United States about 2 hours ago
Location:
Campus, ILLINOIS Summary This position will be responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for the BG1 Plus office. Duties will include producing cards (BG1 Cards, ID Badges, Novelty Cards, etc.), answering general questions about the program, policies, and procedures associated with the BG1 Plus office and the BG1 Card, and maintaining Factline, the Campus Operator line, and computer information systems that provide information to the BGSU community. As a front-line assistant for the BG1 Plus office, the ability to respond professionally to customers face to face, over the telephone, and via email are essential.
Career Readiness Competencies:
Critical Thinking Teamwork Technology Essential Functions Answer general questions about BG1 Card use, account balances, and transaction activity. Operate a cash register, providing change and handling cash, credit, checks, and Stored Value transactions as necessary. Create and/or replace BG1 Cards, ID badges, and Novelty Cards while verifying IDs through BGSU systems and BG1 Card equipment. Assist at University functions and events (i.e. Preview Days, SOAR, Campus Fest, etc.). Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, faxing, preparing mailings, making on-campus deliveries, posting flyers, or assisting technical staff. Serve as the building host by welcoming persons approaching or passing by the Front Desk. Provide accurate information as requested by customers at the desk or over the phone.
Additional Responsibilities:
Open and close the BG1 Plus office at times indicated on current building hours schedule. Research and have knowledge of a variety of sources of University and community information. Review daily report logs and schedules for specific instructions and events. Report notable activities, problems, questions, etc., to the appropriate individuals. Monitor international, national, local, and campus news, and research information for customers. Operate the Factline and Campus Operator systems. Receive requests for building services and communicate requests to appropriate staff. Handle pre-arranged ticket sales. Provide lost and found services. Check out keys to authorized student organization members. Be attentive to the safety and security of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Understand the policies of the BG1 Plus office, Bowen-Thompson Student Union, and Bowling Green State University. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as needed. Perform audits on vending machines across campus when needed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and a professional demeanor are all required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Basic proficiency and prior experience with personal computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a high degree of confidentiality are required. Must be extremely reliable, responsible, professional in appearance, and able to work under pressure. The ability to work independently, identifying resources and make independent decisions. Ability to work in a team environment. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills. Flexible hours for availability (including evenings and weekends) when the building is open; availability during Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR) and University breaks is required. General familiarity with the University map, programs, and services as well as familiarity with the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. A general knowledge of the University and the MyBGSU web portal are desired. Basic understanding of meal plan programs, financial aid and how it is applied to accounts and the functions of the Bursar's Office are desired. The ability to troubleshoot as well as know when to refer questions to other staff are desired. Additional Information Must be willing to work summers.
