Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR) | Lansing Animal Hospital | Lansing, IL Love animals? Obsessed with staying organized? Boughton Animal Clinic is looking for a friendly, outgoing, and compassionate Veterinary Client Service Representative to join our team! You'll be the first smile our clients see and the voice that helps guide pet parents through every step of their visit. If you love helping people, cuddling the occasional puppy (or cat...when they allow it ), and being part of an amazing team, keep reading. What You'll Be Doing Greeting clients and their pets with a warm, welcoming attitude from the moment they walk through our doors. Answering incoming phone calls and assisting clients with scheduling appointments, prescription refill requests, and general questions. Scheduling appointments efficiently while helping maximize the doctors' daily schedules. Checking clients in and out, processing payments, and explaining invoices with confidence and professionalism. Educating pet parents about wellness care, preventive medicine, vaccines, diagnostics, and available services. Communicating with veterinarians and technicians to ensure seamless patient care and exceptional client service. Managing medical records and accurately entering client and patient information into our practice management software. Responding to emails, text messages, and online appointment requests in a timely manner. Helping coordinate prescription requests and communicating with clients when medications are ready for pickup. Assisting with appointment confirmations, follow-up calls, and client reminders. Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area and lobby. Helping keep the hospital running smoothly by staying organized and anticipating the needs of the team. Supporting clients with empathy and compassion during difficult conversations, emergencies, and end-of-life visits. Working closely with the entire hospital team to create a positive, efficient, and stress-free experience for pets and their families. Finding solutions, staying flexible, and jumping in wherever needed to help the team succeed. We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
Friendly, positive, and genuinely loves working with people and pets. Able to multitask without breaking a sweat. Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented. Comfortable in a busy, team-focused environment. A great communicator with excellent customer service skills. Ready to jump in wherever needed to help the team succeed. Requirements Must have at least 1 year of veterinary experience. Previous experience as a Veterinary Client Service Representative or in a veterinary hospital is preferred. Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both in person and over the phone. Comfortable handling a high volume of calls while providing a positive client experience. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn veterinary practice management software. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail when scheduling appointments, processing payments, and maintaining accurate client and patient records. Comfortable discussing estimates, invoices, wellness plans, and preventive care with clients. Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional during emotional or emergency situations. Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic. Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and fellow CSRs. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
