Montgomery, IL Job Details Permanent | Full-time $42,000 - $48,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Retirement plan Qualifications English Computer networking Desktop administration CompTIA A+ Mobile devices Full Job Description Looking for your next step in IT support? We're an established managed IT services company in the far west suburbs, and we're expanding our team with an IT Support Technician who genuinely enjoys solving problems and helping people get unstuck. In this role, you're often the first voice a client hears when their day gets derailed by a tech issue — and the person who gets them back on track. Because we support a wide range of client environments rather than one internal network, you'll be exposed to more systems, more scenarios, and more real-world troubleshooting in your first year here than most in-house IT roles offer in several.
Job Type:
Full-Time, On-Site (Far West Suburbs)
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional rotating on-call coverage for after-hours emergencies Your Day-to-Day Serve as the first responder for client support tickets, triaging and resolving issues as they come in Provide remote troubleshooting support, walking end users through fixes step by step Handle account administration: password resets, new account setup, and offboarding Keep client systems current with security patches and software updates Support our field technicians when extra hands are needed for on-site work Occasionally travel to client locations for in-person support Take part in a rotating on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies (infrequent) Document your work clearly so the rest of the team can build on it Eventually take on end-user training as you get more comfortable in the role What We're Looking For 1-3 years of hands-on IT support experience is a plus — you should be comfortable with Windows desktop support, hardware/software installs, printers, and mobile devices A natural communicator who can translate tech-speak into plain English for clients and teammates alike The kind of person people already come to for tech help — and who'd rather teach someone to fix it than just fix it for them Sharp attention to detail and the instinct to catch small issues before they become big ones Comfortable juggling multiple tickets and priorities without losing track of anything A genuine curiosity about troubleshooting and figuring out what's actually wrong Bonus points for familiarity with basic networking concepts, Microsoft 365, or Active Directory; A+ or similar certifications are welcome but not required A positive, coachable attitude — we're glad to train someone with the right mindset even if their resume is still thin Solid time management and the ability to prioritize on the fly Why You'll Like It Here Small, relaxed team environment where you'll actually get mentored, not just onboarded Broad exposure — working across multiple clients means seeing far more variety than a typical single-company help desk job Real room to grow as the company grows — this isn't a dead-end seat A team that communicates, supports each other, and actually wants you to succeed
Benefits:
401(k), health/dental/vision insurance, paid time off Ready to Apply? If you like people, like puzzles, and want to build a career in IT, send us your resume along with a short note on why this role sounds like a good fit for you.
