401(k) Paid time off Customer & Client Service / Office Assistant American Molecular Laboratories (AML) is seeking a motivated, professional, and customer-focused Customer & Client Service Office Assistant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, communicating by phone, and providing excellent customer service in a healthcare environment. Approximately 80% of the position involves phone communication with patients, clients, insurance companies, healthcare facilities, and physician offices. Position Summary The Customer & Client Service Office Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory clients. This position combines customer service, patient support, medical billing assistance, insurance verification, shipping and receiving, inventory management, and general office administration. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling a high volume of phone calls while supporting daily office and warehouse operations. Responsibilities Answer and manage inbound and outbound phone calls (approximately 80% of daily duties). Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Assist patients with billing questions, payment arrangements, and account inquiries. Verify insurance eligibility and document patient information accurately. Follow up with clinics, physician offices, and healthcare facilities regarding required documentation. Coordinate with billing and accounting departments regarding claims, invoices, and collections. Maintain accurate records and update databases. Assist with reception and front office duties as needed. Pack, prepare, and ship medical testing kits, laboratory supplies, and client orders. Assemble patient collection kits and ensure all required materials are included. Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need to be reordered. Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with FedEx, UPS, and other carriers. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage area. Assist with warehouse maintenance, stocking shelves, organizing shipping materials, and inventory tracking. Provide reception and front desk coverage. Perform other administrative, clerical, customer service, and operational duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree, Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Previous customer service, call center, medical office, or administrative experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Comfortable speaking on the phone for most of the workday. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications. Ability to remain professional and courteous when handling sensitive situations. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Experience in healthcare, medical billing, insurance verification, or collections is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move packages up to 20 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, and perform light warehouse duties as needed.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Standard business hours 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:
