Job Description

Job Summary We are an independent family owned automotive repair shop seeking a Service Advisor to help with customer communication. Primary focus will be to answer phone calls and assist customers as they enter the shop. This role will assist in coordinating appointments, creating invoices, and providing updates to customers as they reach out. We are a busy shop, even in these times, with a trusting customer base. This is just one reason we do not emphasize upselling. With a diverse following, it is important to first understand our customer and their needs. This role will be a solely people facing one that is assisted by the back of the house managers for any help. Duties Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their automotive needs. Provide detailed explanations of service options and recommendations based on customer inquiries. Utilize auto estimating software (AutoTraker, AllData, and PartsTech) to generate accurate service estimates for repairs and maintenance. Manage the service process from start to finish, ensuring timely updates to customers regarding their vehicle status. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of payments and services rendered. Promote additional services such as brake repair, tire service, shocks struts, and other automotive repairs through effective upselling techniques. Collaborate with technicians to ensure clear communication regarding customer needs and service expectations. Maintain a clean and organized service area, adhering to all safety protocols. Qualifications Previous experience in automotive service sales required. Open to accepting students in formal programs. Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes. Ability to translate customer concerns into direct repairs a big plus (ie: steering wheel shaking when braking). Detail oriented with note taking and invoice tracking. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on customer satisfaction. Familiarity with automotive estimating software is an advantage.
