Duties Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to ensure timely deliveries. Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and enhance fleet management efficiency. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, vendors, and customers via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms to track shipments, update statuses, and maintain detailed logs. Manage shipping & receiving schedules, oversee freight documentation, and ensure compliance with logistics protocols. Assist with supply chain analysis by reviewing transportation data, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing improvements for logistics workflows. Support fleet management activities by coordinating vehicle maintenance schedules and tracking fleet performance metrics. Experience Proven experience in dispatching or transportation management roles within logistics or supply chain environments. Familiarity with transportation planning software such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data from GPS systems, GIS tools, and transportation reports. Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for engaging with clients and drivers effectively. Experience working with multi-line phone systems, data entry tasks, and shipping & receiving procedures. Knowledge of freight operations, 3PL (third-party logistics), fleet management practices, and shipping regulations is highly desirable. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail across various systems including AS400 and SyteLine.
