Job Description

Summary/Objective The position of Business Services Representative will execute EKCEP's Business Services Model and WIOA policies. This position facilitates communication between EKCEP Business Services Director, workforce partners and employers as it pertains to Business Services projects, services and activities. The BSR (Business Service Representative) works to assist employers with their needs as it pertains to recruitment of new employees and/or retention. The BSR will work with community leaders, economic development, regional business service team members and market employer services in their applicable areas. Developing solutions with employers to support hiring and training activities Hosting Job Fairs for employers to assist in finding potential employees Consulting with Business Services Director when funded services such as On the Job Training, Customized Training, Incumbent Worker Training, Internships, etc. are identified as solutions to employer needs Stays up to date on local labor market and trends Attends local Chambers of Commerce, Rotary or any other civic organization meetings in their designated area(s) Maintains documentation of all employer services in the EKCEP Business Services Database Maintains a current knowledge of the agency's programs, objectives, and strategies Communicates with internal staff of opportunities available to job seekers Attending local, and/or state meetings as required. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. Required to spend numerous hours outside of the office in various settings such as outdoor areas, schools, adult education centers, unemployment offices, various businesses, etc. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Extended periods of time sitting in front of computer, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard, bending at the wrist, kneeling or reaching to retrieve and file records, some climbing, prolonged periods. Ability to drive an 11 passenger van. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. The position is 40 hours per week, Normally Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Some weekend work is mandatory due to events being held in the community. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area may be expected as well as some overnight travel for training purposes. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree or previous experience in workforce development or related field Preferred Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, or a related area, with supporting and appropriate work experience is preferred. Related work experience may be substituted for required education on a two to one ratio (two years of related work experience to one year of education.)
