This position requires a combination of customer service skills, product knowledge, and physical ability to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Assistance Greet customers as they arrive at the drive-through lumberyard and inquire about their specific needs Provide assistance and guidance to customers in selecting and loading lumber and construction materials Communicate effectively with customers to address questions, concerns, or special requests Provide information on pricing, promotions, and any relevant policies 2. Product Knowledge Develop a thorough understanding of the lumberyard's product inventory, including types of lumber, building materials, and other related products Offer recommendations and information on products based on customer requirements 3. Order Fulfillment Accurately pull and stage customers' orders based on their requests Ensure that orders are complete and accurate before delivering them to customers' vehicles 4. Loading & Unloading Safely operate forklifts or other equipment to load and unload heavy building materials onto customers' vehicles Adhere to safety guidelines and proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries 5. Inventory Management Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by updating the system as materials are pulled or restocked Report any discrepancies or low stock levels to the supervisor 6. Safety Compliance Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for both customers and staff Participate in regular safety training sessions Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience in a lumberyard or construction materials setting is preferred. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification. Knowledge of lumber and construction materials is an asset. Ability to lift and move heavy objects in excess of 80lbs.
