Job Description

A cover letter is required for consideration for this position and should be attached as the first page of your resume. The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position. The Consultation Service Client Service Representative's (CSR) primary responsibilities are to receive, accession, triage, deliver, and return outside case materials for the purpose of facilitating consultations referred from outside facilities and for patients transferring care to Michigan Medicine for continuation of care. The Consultation Service CSR team also provides specimen processing support for the Department of Pathology NCRC laboratory logistics center (NLNC) including receipt, processing, tracking, and transport of anatomic and clinical laboratory specimens and other duties as assigned. Perform accurate and timely consultation case sample receipt and data entry into Department of Pathology Laboratory Information and tracking systems. Unpack, verify, and record contents and condition of received patient assets and associated paperwork. Label and triage patient assets for distribution to the designated service or file as appropriate. Return slides, blocks, or other patient assets to the originating facility including data entry into Department of Pathology Laboratory Information and tracking systems with attention to detail to ensure accurate routing. Assist in resolving accessioning issues including but not limited to requisition discrepancies and missing information. Record issues into MLabs Salesforce or other CRM platform(s) as applicable . Work as part of a team to efficiently accomplish daily work in a production environment, adjusting rapidly to daily changes in workflow as necessary . Perform receipt, transport, processing, tracking, and distribution or delivery of anatomic and clinical laboratory specimens. Maintain quality control as required, including temperature checks on all storage refrigerators and freezers. In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment. High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated commitment to Service Excellence. Demonstrated good work habits, dependability, punctuality, flexibility, and attendance. Demonstrated ability to perform timely and accurate data entry. Excellent problem-solving skills along with the ability to take action while exhibiting good judgment and realistic understanding of issues . Ability to communicate with others in a friendly and helpful manner while building credibility and rapport with customers and co-workers. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, frequent standing and walking required. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience and aptitude with a variety of computer software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office products, MiChart, Soft, and email systems. Previous experience in a laboratory environment working as a team to assist clients/customers/co-workers. This full time, 40 hour position is Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend and holiday rotation, hours vary with shift assignment.
