Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Service Writer/Service Advisor to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our skilled technicians, ensuring a seamless and positive service experience. Your enthusiasm for automotive repair and exceptional customer service will drive customer satisfaction, foster trust, and promote repeat business. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your automotive knowledge and sales skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs. Clearly communicate repair recommendations, estimates, and service options to customers, ensuring transparency and understanding. Prepare detailed auto estimates using auto estimating software, including labor, parts, and additional services such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards. Upsell additional services or maintenance that align with customer needs to enhance vehicle performance and safety. Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper documentation of all service orders and payments. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business through excellent customer service. Qualifications Previous dealership or automotive service management experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures across various vehicle types including light-duty and diesel engines. Proven ability in auto estimating, upselling services, and understanding automotive repair processes such as oil changes, tire service, brake repair, alignments, suspension work, transmissions, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs. Experience working with service technicians and understanding mechanic workflows is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Familiarity with auto sales processes and automobile sales experience is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge combined with dealership experience will help you succeed in this role. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining detailed records of all services performed.
