Job Description
Do you have a passion for improving the health of individuals receiving behavioral health services? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Client Registration & Insurance Specialist II at our psych clinic. What You Will Be Doing Working as a Client Registration & Insurance Specialist II you will be responsible for creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for clients presenting for ACT, research, and/or behavioral health appointments. You will meet with clients to review and update insurance information and complete CCBHC Sliding Fee Scale income determinations, while also addressing questions related to billing and insurance coverage. In this role, you will accept client payments, manage incoming telephone calls, and provide excellent customer service at all points of contact. You will verify active insurance coverage and benefit eligibility prior to scheduled services and notify clinic managers when a scheduled appointment is not paneled with the client's insurance. Additional responsibilities include assessing eligibility, completing required Long ATP documentation, and updating financial determinations on an annual basis to ensure accurate and compliant records. What We Require You will have a high school diploma or GED and have a minimum of two years of experience in patient/client registration within a hospital or healthcare setting. Experience working in a behavioral health or related mental health field with the target population is preferred. Applicants should have a strong working knowledge of insurance plans, eligibility verification, benefits coordination, and insurance verification processes, including determining client financial responsibility. A foundational understanding of medical coding, including CPT and ICD-10 coding, is also required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to independently interpret and apply insurance and coding information without sole reliance on electronic health record (EHR) systems. Superior customer service, strong communication, interpersonal, and human relations skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts - Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot. Working Conditions - Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen.
