Job Description

Overview Join our automotive team as a Receptionist/Service Writer, where your energetic attitude and exceptional customer service skills will drive our success! In this vital role, you will be the friendly face and organized communicator that helps keep our service department running smoothly. Prior experience in the automotive industry is advantageous but not required. We are fully prepared to provide comprehensive training to the right candidate for our Service Writer position. This is an exciting opportunity to blend administrative excellence with automotive expertise in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Duties Greet customers warmly upon arrival, creating a positive first impression and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere Collect and verify customer vehicle information, including service needs and vehicle history Write detailed service estimates using estimating software, clearly explaining repairs and costs to clients Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and estimated timeframes Upsell additional services or maintenance based on customer needs and vehicle condition to maximize dealership revenue Manage appointment scheduling, vehicle check-in/out processes, and cash handling with accuracy Maintain thorough records of service orders, repair details, and client communications for seamless workflow Assist with automotive diagnostics or mechanical questions when needed, leveraging your mechanical knowledge and experience in dealership or auto repair settings Check inventory and assist with other back office/lobby requirements. Qualifications Experience as a Service Writer or Receptionist within an automotive dealership or repair shop is not necessary as we are willing to train, but experience will be taken into consideration during the hiring process. Understanding of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repair, alignments, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, transmissions, air brakes, and collision repair is not necessary as we are willing to train, but experience will be taken into consideration during the hiring process. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; comfortable driving various vehicles.
