Job Description

Job Overview The Driver & Customer Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting day-to-day transportation operations by serving as a communication link between drivers, dispatch, customers, and internal teams. This position is responsible for providing timely assistance to drivers, delivering excellent customer service, resolving shipment issues, and ensuring accurate operational documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys problem-solving, communicating with people, and keeping operations running smoothly. Expected schedule will be Monday-Friday 6:00am-3:00pm. Responsibilities Driver Support & Operational Coordination Provide real-time assistance to drivers regarding loads, routes, delays, and operational issues. Track driver movement and provide updates to dispatch and internal teams. Submit, monitor, and manage detention requests. Assist with accessorial charges, flip payments, and related operational billing items. Monitor and update empty container return information. Escalate urgent issues quickly to dispatch or leadership when needed. Maintain professional and helpful communication with drivers throughout the day. Customer Service & Communication Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding shipment status, delivery timelines, and service updates. Billing, Documentation & Systems Handle rail billing and ensure accurate supporting documentation. Maintain accurate records in transportation management systems and internal platforms. Enter shipment notes, updates, and billing details accurately and timely. Verify data for completeness and accuracy across systems. Support reporting and tracking needs for operations leadership. Provide proactive shipment updates and respond promptly to customer inquiries. Resolve service concerns professionally and coordinate solutions internally. Maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and accurate communication. Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound email communication. Team Collaboration & Operational Support Work closely with dispatch, billing, operations, and customer service teams. Assist with process improvements that increase service levels and efficiency. Adapt to changing priorities and operational needs throughout the day. Support company goals through reliable follow-through and accountability. Qualifications & Skills Experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or customer service preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in multiple computer systems simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with transportation management systems preferred. Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize effectively. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
