The Landing MN is seeking compassionate, resilient, and community-minded individuals to join our team as Client Advocates at our Rochester day center serving individuals experiencing homelessness. This role is more than supervision or case coordination — it is about building trust, meeting basic needs, and helping people take meaningful next steps toward stability. As a Client Advocate, you will often be the first welcoming face our guests encounter. You'll work directly alongside individuals navigating homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, trauma, and crisis while helping create a safe, low-barrier environment grounded in respect and hope. Whether helping someone access a shower, connecting them to medical or social services, de-escalating a difficult situation, or simply offering consistent human kindness, your presence can make a lasting impact. What You'll Do Create a safe, welcoming, trauma-informed environment for guests and volunteers Build trust-based relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness Support guests in accessing basic needs, medical care, and social services Assist with scheduling appointments and documenting daily interactions Utilize de-escalation, harm reduction, and crisis intervention skills Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers in a fast-paced environment Help maintain a clean, organized, and respectful day center space What We're Looking For Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-stress situations Team-oriented mindset with professionalism and accountability Experience in social services, homelessness services, mental health, or substance use support preferred Lived experience and cultural competency are strongly valued Comfortable working in a low-barrier shelter environment Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check Why Work at The Landing MN?
